About this Image

Oregon Coast, Oregon

This photograph was made on the Oregon coast shortly after sunset, working low among a dense patch of coastal wildflowers overlooking the Pacific. It was created during a period when I was pushing away from documentation and leaning hard into interpretation.

At the time, I wasn’t interested in whether the scene could exist exactly as shown. I was chasing feeling, color, and atmosphere. I wanted the image to live somewhere between memory and imagination, closer to how a place can feel than how it actually presents itself.

This was one of the last images I made in that mindset.

Looking at it now, I can see the shift clearly. The softness. The saturation. The way it leans into emotion over restraint. It is less a photograph of a moment and more an assembled vision built from moments I had experienced along that coast.

Even as my work has moved toward greater realism and discipline, I still value this image for what it represents. A chapter. A phase. A willingness to explore without boundaries.

Context and Landscape

The Oregon coast is defined by contrast. Cold water, dark rock, persistent wind, and bursts of seasonal color that appear briefly along cliffs and headlands. Offshore sea stacks rise abruptly from the ocean, remnants of harder stone left behind by erosion.

Coastal wildflowers thrive here despite harsh conditions, growing low to the ground and blooming in tight clusters that resist wind and salt spray. They are easy to overlook unless you stop and look closely, especially after daylight fades.

At night, these places feel empty and expansive. Sound carries. Light disappears quickly. The boundary between land and ocean becomes less distinct.

Creation Notes

This image was created using a deep focus stack to maintain clarity across the foreground flowers and rocky shoreline. The Milky Way was photographed weeks earlier under different conditions and later composited into the scene.

The blending was intentionally soft. Color, contrast, and luminosity were pushed well beyond realism to create a heightened, almost dreamlike interpretation of the coast at night. While every element in the image originates from real photographs I captured, the final result does not represent a single moment in time.

This work reflects a period when I prioritized atmosphere and visual poetry over strict authenticity. It stands apart from how I approach photography today, but remains an important part of my evolution as an artist.

Additional Details About The Print

Acrylic Brilliance

Acrylic brings depth, clarity, and presence that traditional prints simply cannot. Light moves through the image, giving the photograph a dimensional quality that feels immersive rather than flat. The result is a piece that holds attention across a room and feels as bold as the landscape it came from.

Limited Edition 25

Limited Edition works are produced in an edition of 25 total prints, regardless of size. Once all 25 are sold, the edition is permanently closed and never reproduced as a single print again. Every piece is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity and a personal narrative that captures the story behind the image, from the journey to the moment it was created.

Printing & Shipping

All prints are made to order and typically require 7-14 business days of production. Once complete, your artwork is carefully packaged and shipped with full insurance and tracking. We ship worldwide; domestic orders within the contiguous United States usually arrive within 1–5 business days. Mounting and Displaying your Art

Each piece arrives ready to hang with a professional aluminum cleat system affixed to the back. The cleat interlocks with a matching wall bracket to float the artwork approximately one inch off the wall, giving a refined gallery presentation. For small prints where a cleat is impractical, alternate hardware (screw or wire hanger) may be used on request. Because wall materials vary, we do not supply wall anchors and strongly recommend professional installation, especially for large or high‑value pieces. Image as example only, exact hardware can vary slightly

  • LIFETIME RUNS

    Limited Editions

    of 25 Prints

Every photograph released as a limited edition is capped at twenty‑five total prints across all sizes and finishes. Once all twenty‑five are placed, the edition closes permanently and is never produced again. Your piece will be accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity documenting the edition number (for example, 3/25), the title, and a personal narrative about how the photograph was captured and created. A serialised holographic sticker links the certificate to the artwork, ensuring provenance and authenticity for resale or appraisal.

  • MATERIALS & PRINTING

    Acrylic

    Face-Mount Process

Each limited edition print is produced using a gallery‑grade acrylic face‑mounting process. The image is printed on high‑resolution metallic photo paper with archival inks, then permanently bonded to UV‑resistant acrylic using an optically clear adhesive. This technique allows light to pass through the acrylic and reflect off the metallic print, creating depth, vibrant color, and a dramatic presence. Cast acrylic is used to prevent yellowing over time, and the edges are polished for a refined finish.

  • MOUNTING & DISPLAY

    Ready to

    Present

Each piece arrives ready to hang using a professional aluminum cleat system affixed to the back of the artwork. The cleat interlocks with a matching wall bracket, causing the print to float roughly one inch off the wall for a clean, modern presentation. Due to the weight and value of these pieces, professional installation is strongly recommended.
